Several years ago the Yonkers Landmarks Preservation Board prepared and published a guidebook for homeowners of older homes with detailed information about the different architectural styles and some do's and dont's about their care and restoration. It is a wonderful 67 page book that's FREE to download.

The Office of Planning is the land use, environmental and historic preservation planning division of the Department of Planning and Development. A major role of the Planning Bureau is to provide technical planning and zoning expertise to the public, developers and other city departments and government agencies. The Planning Bureau also provides professional and administrative assistance for the Planning and Landmarks Preservation Boards and also provides planning reports for the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Planning Bureau also assists in formulating corridor plans, redevelopment projects, short and long range planning and the design and execution of the streetscape program.
